Fire Cider has been around for for a long time. If you want to read a short history of Fire Cider pick up Rosemary Gladstar’s Book Fire Cider 101 zesty recipes for Health-Boosting Remedies. It’s a good read and I do recommend it all the time. Now for my Fire Cider Recipe. In a large jar or jug at the following:
2 Large onions cut up into quarters
1 whole clove of garlic peeled and smashed
1 to 2 inches of turmeric root chopped or grated
1 to 2 inches of ginger root chopped or grated
2 whole lemons cut up and dropped in with the skin on
2 to 4 Jalapeno peppers
1 inch horse radish root grated
1 or 2 sprigs of rosemary
Cover the whole lot with unfiltered with the mother apple cider vinegar.
I let mine sit in a dark cabinet for a month. You can shorten that time to two weeks if you want to. Shake the jar at least once a week to stir it all up. Once the time has past strain the liquid out of the jar into a clean jar. Vola, you have your fire cider.
Now you can add a little honey to taste and add it to a nice cup of hot water for a tonic, it can boost your immune function and aid circulation.
You can add it to salad dressings, put a couple of tablespoons into a beef stew and a slew of other recipes.
Enjoy….
